This comprehensive three-day course is limited to a small group of only 12 photographers and will provide an interactive hands-on training in photography, editing and image manipulation.

Professional photographer Chris Coe and leading digital imaging expert Terry Steeley will guide you through the whole process from preparing to shoot to setting-up colour management and outputting your images.

Day 1

Shoot day. The course will start with a session on what makes a good image and how to use your equipment to achieve it. For the rest of the day we'll be out shooting and putting the lessons learned into practice photographing a range of subjects.

Day 2

Review and edit images. Delegates will prepare and sort through their images taken on Day 1 for the digital imaging and output on Day 3. This day will help you to select your best images and work out how you could have made them better at the time you took them.

Day 3

Digital imaging. learn how to use manipulate your images and output them for print and web. We'll take you through the last but very important stage of photography, showing you how to minimise the time spent staring at a computer screen by guiding you through the image manipulation process using sound techniques that will get the best out of your images rather than damaging them. We will finish the day by looking at how you optimise images for different uses, how to print them and how to output them for web use.

Chris Coe
Chris is a self-taught photographer who, since turning professional in 1992, has combined his passion for photography with a love of travel. He photographs landscapes, people, wildlife and architecture in a range of formats including 35mm, panoramic and medium format using both film and digital cameras.

His work has been widely published in newspapers, magazines and books and his clients include major multinational companies. Chris has shot over 40 travel and coffee table books. His first book on photography, ‘The Art of Landscape Photography' is widely used as a reference work.

In addition to heading UK and international photography courses, Chris lectures on a variety photographic subjects, including travel, landscape and stock photography, at major conferences and events such as Focus on Imaging, Adobe Live and the Daily Telegraph Adventure Show. He has also presented photographic features for TV.

After many years working in the travel industry and seeing at first hand how little recognition is given to many of the very talented photographers who shoot travel related images, Chris decided to set up the Travel Photographer of the Year competition. This competition is now in its fifth year and is rapidly growing into ‘the' major international showcase for travel photography.
